Meadows Cafe & Store in Pulborough is a bright and inviting spot that blends a casual cafe atmosphere with the convenience of a local store. Located just off Abingworth Crescent, it draws a steady mix of locals and visitors looking for a relaxed place to grab good coffee, a quick breakfast, or a simple lunch without fuss.

Inside, the space feels roomy yet cozy, with both indoor seating and an outdoor area for warmer days. The clean and tidy environment makes it easy to settle in whether you’re meeting friends, popping in for a takeaway, or spending a quiet morning with a book. While it’s not a large café, its layout manages to feel open and welcoming rather than cramped.

Food-wise, Meadows Cafe offers reliable classics with a particular nod to its bacon rolls, which several visitors highlight as especially satisfying. Pastries like the Belgian buns are also popular, and the presence of vegan and gluten-free options means it caters to a range of dietary preferences. Lunch tends to feature generously filled sandwiches paired with simple sides like salad and crisps, providing a straightforward but thoughtful menu for a midday stop.

The adjoining store adds a practical element, stocked with essentials and some appealing extras such as local ice cream and fresh bread. This dual setup suits those who want to combine a light bite or coffee with picking up a few groceries or gifts, making Meadows a convenient local hub rather than just a sit-down café.

From quiet weekday mornings to busy lunch hours accommodating groups, the staff appear attentive and efficient, handling a crowd without compromising speed or friendliness. The cafe’s reasonable pricing and well-made items attract a diverse clientele — from dog walkers and cyclists pausing on their routes to groups stopping over for a dependable meal.

In summary, Meadows Cafe & Store is suited for anyone seeking a no-nonsense, friendly spot to enjoy decent coffee, straightforward food, and small-shop browsing. It feels like a practical part of the neighborhood rhythm, best enjoyed during breakfast or lunch when the food is fresh and the atmosphere lively but unhurried.

We were a group of 17 stopping for lunch. In view of the group size, the food was pre-ordered. Although the cafe was busy, the food arrived soon after we sat down. Everyone enjoyed their meals; the sandwiches were generously filled and accompanied by salad and crisps, but the bacon rolls were out of this world! Definitely the best ever. The doughnuts were also wonderful. No one left hungry!

Great cafe. Spacious room with indoor and outdoor seating, very clean and wonderful cakes, sandwiches and coffee, etc. Great vegan and gluten-free cakes as well. Reasonably priced as well. Also has a useful shop.

Came here for breakfast on the way home after holiday as there was nothing left in the fridge. What. A. Find. Bacon and sausage breakfast bap was cooked well and delicious, and the frothy coffee had structural integrity. The shop was stocked widely with fresh fruit and veg as well as a small "free from" area. It filled up quickly with folk, and was very dog friendly.

Super nice owners and staff. I visit regularly. There is plenty of seating, inside and out. Being a gluten intolerant vegan, there are always at least 2-3 options of cakes, and gluten free oat milk,, which is alot more to be said than many bigger establishments! I would love to have the option of something savoury though Many other wonderful cakes etc also for those,, non vegans! Although anyone would love the vegan offers, and wouldn't even be able to tell the difference... There's also plenty of groceries and fresh local produce to choose from. Dogs are welcome outside, and there are complimentary biscuits for them to munch on. I'd highly recommend Meadow cafe and stores.
